In this tutorial, we are not using WordPress to blog. We are using it to build a review site, so we’re using it as a CMS. That’s why there are some essential reconfigurations that need to be done. You can do them now or after finishing the tutorial.
So now that you have downloaded MyReviewPlugin, install it.
MyReviewPlugin comes with a comprehensive, well-written user-manual. Follow the installation instructions that came with your download of the plugin. (In most cases, it’s just upload and activate
)
Review Site Theme
Before we do anything, we want to select a theme for our review site. You can choose one of the excellent themes that are bundled with MyReviewPlugin. But for this tutorial, I will use TwentyTen because it is very robust and customizable.
I added a woodworking background image and header to give the site a woodworking feel. However, my product reviews, ratings, and comparison table will not look right on TwentyTen without some CSS tweaks, which I will cover in this tutorial. That’s why you’ll have to know some CSS to follow along comfortably.
Here’s how the site looks before any content or tweaks (except added background and header):

Now let’s add the categories and metrics by which we will evaluate and rate the products.
