Subscribers Magnet is a multi-purpose opt-in form plugin that is designed specifically to help site owners capture emails at every imaginable opportunity. It is the first plugin of its kind. It came out with some revolutionary features such as the stealth comment subscription, the newsletter subscription checkbox on the comment form, and opt-in form autofilling.
Find out if it still hold its grounds today with all the competition!
Installation & Ease of Use
Once you buy Subscribers Magnet, you get access to the members area where you can download the plugin and install it. There is no license activation or any hassles like that.
Compared with other plugins in its category, Subscriber Magnet has a clean user interface. It is sensibly labeled and laid out. It doesn’t feel overwhelming, which is an impressive thing for a plugin that packs in so many features!

Support & Documentation
Subscribers Magnet has an online wiki page that’s publicly available. You can use the wiki to learn how to get started on the various features. If you need a specific answer to a question you have, you can post on Subscribers Magnet’s GetSatisfaction forum.
Types of Opt-in Forms
Subscribers Magnet is capable of creating various types of opt-in forms, such as popups, footer bar, sidebar widget, and in-post forms. However, while the plugin is very functional, the forms it produces are lacking in the design and aesthetics department. And it doesn’t offer as many configurations and options as the other plugins.
Design & Built-in Templates
Subscribers Magnet form look a bit basic.

You can change the colors of the background, borders, and you can adjust the border thickness. There are also options for formatting the textboxes and the sizes of the forms. However, the plugin doesn’t have built-in templates as other plugins have nowadays.
Opt-in Form Options and Settings
For every form that you create with Subscribers Magnet you can set a bunch of options. Some settings have to do with the appearance of the forms, while others are about the placement and location of the form. You can place your form in the RSS feed, within a select group of posts, or the the bottom or top of a single specific post. Additionally, opt-in forms can be placed on the homepage above the usual list of posts or below it.
Integration with Comments and Registration Forms
You can use Subscribers Magnet to place a subscription checkbox on your WordPress comment form. You can select to have the checkbox pre-checked or checked and hidden to add subscribers silently. Unfortunately, the plugin doesn’t allow you to change the location of the checkbox, i.e. below or above the form.
Subscribers Magnet also lacks the ability to add a subscription checkbox to the registration form.
Additional Features
Form Auto Filler
One interesting feature of Subscribers Magnet is its ability to retrieve the name and email that a visitor used for commenting and pre-fill the opt-in form with those values. Unlike other plugins, Subscribers Magnet can fill out even those forms that were not created with the plugin itself.
There is some confusion surrounding this feature, though. Some people think that Subscribers Magnet can hack into a visitors computer and retrieve their information–it’s not like that. For this feature to work, a visitor must leave a comment on the site first.
Money Matters
While MBP Subscribers Magnet was very clever and kind of a breakthrough when it first came out, other plugins now have copied it and those plugins are now able to provide similar functionality and more for less than half the cost.
Subscribers Magnet costs $147 for an unrestricted license. It entitles you to unlimited updates and support. The plugin is also backed by a 60-day unconditional money back guarantee, so you can buy completely risk free!
