Prices, Licenses, & Refund Policies of Newsletter Plugins

There’s isn’t much uniformity in the ranges of prices of these WordPress newsletter plugins. Some plugins are underpowered, yet very expensive. Other plugins are cool and fully featured and are still offered at reasonable prices.

And you need to watch out for some fine print regarding the right to updated versions of the plugins and refund policies.

You can click on the name of the product below to view its full review.

Tribulant Newsletter

Tribulant Newsletter costs a one time payment of $55 for the single site license or $275 for the unlimited license. I think (for its features and robustness), it's a great value for the money. Both licenses give you 3 months worth of updates. If you wanna update the plugin after that, you'll have to buy update points. They are pretty affordable, but keep in mind that there are no refunds.

WP Autoresponder

WP Autoresponder is completely free. But you have to opt-in for the developers mailing list to receive the download link.

Satollo's Newsletter

Satollo's Newsletter comes in two versions a free version and a pro version that costs one time payment of $20. The Pro version has: feed by email, analytics, autoresponder, custom subscription forms, and advanced SMTP configurations. Buying the Pro version entitles you to one full year of free updates. You're only supposed to install the plugin on websites that you own. If you want to be able to install it on client sites, you can buy the Consultants license of the plugin for $97.

For all purchases there is a 60-day unconditional money back guarantee.

EasyMail Newsletter

EasyMail is completely free--no strings attached.

MailPress

MailPress is completely free--no strings attached. I don't see the developer trying to monetize his work in any way.

[GWA] Autoresponder Professional

There's a free version of [GWA] Autoresponder on WordPress.org. But it's limited in functionality. This review was for the Professional version. The professional version costs a one time payment of $67. There is no mention on the website as to for how long updates will be offered and whether there are any restrictions on the license. I assume it's life time updates and unrestricted license.

There's also a 100% satisfaction guarantee for 30 days.

WPMU DEV e-Newsletter

To download e-Newsletter and use it on unlimited websites, you can purchase it for $39 (includes 1 month upgrades and support), $79 (3 months upgrades and support), or $209 (12 months upgrades and support).

Alternatively, you can become a WPMU DEV subscriber to get access to e-Newsletter and many other useful plugins and great support. The prices for WPMU DEV subscriptions are detailed here.

There are no refunds with WPMU DEV. But everything is GPL licensed, which means you are free to do whatever you want with the software. You can install it on as many websites as you want, and you can even resell it!

MeeNews

MeeNews costs a one-time payment of $80 for the single site license and $265 for the unlimited sites license. There's also a free version of the plugin on WordPress.org. But honestly, the plugin seems broken. It barely works, so I don't know why anyone would buy it.
