The information below helps you compare the costs, licenses, and refund policies of WordPress shopping cart plugins. The variety of pricing models and policies of the plugins makes this comparison important.

Some plugins require a yearly subscription for updates, some plugins don’t offer a refund policy, some plugins allow unlimited installs for as little as 39 dollars. Read the information below to understand the differences.

Shopp

Shopp is GPL licensed, which means, once you download it, you can do with it whatever you please, even give it to the Cuban government or resell it.

However, to download the latest version of Shopp, you'll have to pay $55 for the basic plugin ($299 for the developers license). Then for each add-on payment gateway and shipping carrier, you'll have to pay an additional $25. Some default payment gateways are integrated with the basic plugin, by the way.

Your purchase of Shopp entitles you to lifetime upgrades and support. But there are no refunds!

Shopp

Shopp is licensed under GPL v3, and comes in 2 licenses:

Single Site Access ($55) This license entitles you to download the core Shopp plugin and use it on a single site with auto-update and online support for that one site. Online documentation and community forums are available but not the developer forums.

Additional add-ons purchased can, however, be used as many times as you like. Auto-updates for add-ons will only be provided for sites with valid, activated keys.

Developer Access ($299) This license entitles you to download the core Shopp plugin and use it on any number of sites with auto-update and online support available for all the sites. Online documentation and community forums are available along with the developer forums.

Single Site Upgrade ($259) You can also upgrade your Single Site license to the Developer license.

Cart66

You can download Cart66 lite from WordPress.org and start using it right now, completely free. But if you're serious about your online store, then you probably want to pay for Cart66 professional.

Cart66 professional comes in 3 different licenses.

Single Site License ($89), which entitles you to professional support for one domain for one year.

Multi-Site License ($179), entitles you to professional support for up to 5 domains for one year.

Developer License ($399), entitles you to unlimited support for unlimited number of sites for one year.

All licenses entitle you to lifetime software updates for the current version (i.e. all 1.x releases).

GetShopped (WP e-Commerce)

GetShopped follows the Professional open source license model. The company offers the base product free under the GNU license, but the add-ons need to be purchased from the company. The add-ons add additional functionality to the base product, and ranges from $24 to $199. There are also community contributed plugins which can be downloaded free.

Every additional paid add-on is distributed under the GPL license, but GetShopped does not provide any refunds.

eShop

The plugin is 100% free and all inclusive. There are no premium add-ons or stuff like that.

MarketPress

To download MarketPress and use it on unlimited websites, you can purchase it for $39 (includes 1 month upgrades and support), $79 (3 months upgrades and support), or $209 (12 months upgrades and support).

Alternatively, you can become a WPMU DEV subscriber to get access to MarketPress and many other useful plugins and great support. The prices for WPMU DEV subscriptions are here.

There are no refunds with WPMU DEV. But the great thing about WPMU DEV plugins is that they are licensed under the GPL, which means that once you download the software, you are free to do with it whatever you want. You can install it on as many websites you want, and you can even resell it!

Tribulant Shopping Cart

Tribulant Shopping Cart is one of the most affordable shopping cart plugins for WordPress at only $55 for a single domain license. The unlimited domains license costs $275.

The licenses entitles you to 3-months updates, which can be renewed for $5 after that. But the installed version and serial key never expire. They're good for life.

Keep in mind that there are no refunds.

Market Theme

There are two different licenses for Market Theme: standard ($55) and developer ($150).

Standard is for when you wanna create your own stores with the software and developer is for when you wanna make websites for clients using the software. Both licenses entitle you to lifetime upgrades and support.

And you can buy Market Theme risk free because it's backed by a solid, 100%, 60-day refund policy.

YAK

YAK is completely free. There are no paid modules or anything like that. However, you'll most likely need to buy the YAK Handbook to really understand how to run your YAK-powered online store. The Handbook is a small $25 purchase.

ShopperPress

For $79 only, you can get a unrestricted copy of ShopperPress. Your license entitles you to unlimited, lifetime upgrades and support. And you can install the software on as many websites as you wish. But keep in mind that there are no refund!

DukaPress

DukaPress is open-source and free. The developers make money by selling premium add-ons such as: Simple Slideshow, Shipping Pro, and DukaPress Styles...You can get the details on each add-on here. These add-ons are very affordable.

The developers also offer DukaPress customization services.

wpStoreCart

wpStoreCart comes in two versions, free and PRO. There is no difference between PRO and free in the shopping cart software itself, but PRO is actually a bundle. It comes with add-on affiliates management software and ecommerce statistics suite. The PRO package also includes premium business support.

Templatic Ecommerce

The standard license for a single Templatic Ecommerce theme costs $65. It includes technical support for one domain for one year and it does not include the PSD files of the themes.

The developer license costs $99 and it includes one year support for multiple domains as well as the PSD files.

There are no refunds.

Jigoshop

Besides the regular open source version, Jigoshop comes in 3 different licenses - mainly related to support, rather than the product itself.

Monthly Premium Support ($29), which entitles you to professional priority support for one month.

Monthly Premium Support ($99), entitles you to professional priority support for one year, in which you save around $249 as compared to the individual month support plan.

Jigoshop Club ($15), entitles you to professional priority support for one year, along with access to all current and future Jigoshop themes and extensions and exclusive tutorials an guides. This package also requires a one time setup fee of $179.

Jigoshop provides a refund and cancellation on all the above licenses, but make sure to check any policy changes when making a purchase.

Zingiri Web Shop

You can download the Zingiri Web Shop plugin from WordPress.org and start using it right now, completely free. But if you want to just focus on selling products and do away with the practical details of setting up a domain and server, you can buy a hosted plan.

Do it Yourself – Web Shop Live ($9.95 / quarter) With the Web Shop Live plan the company will host your shop data and you administer the shop via their secure servers.

TheCartPress

As pointed out in the introduction, TheCartPress base product is free but the company charges for additional extensions and themes. Not all of the extensions or themes are paid though, many of them are free. But the most important ones like FreshBooks, PayMate, PayFlow Pro are paid, with prices going anywhere between $30 to $99. TheCartPress does not offer any refund policies for the extensions purchased.

WP Online Store

As said in the introduction, WP Online Store is completely free but the company charges for additional extensions and custom setup and installation, although they are comparetively not costly - ranging from $15 to $40. Also if you are currently using osCommerce you can migrate the same to a WordPress setup using WP Online Store for $89. WP Online Store presently does not offer any refund policies for additional modules purchased.
