Keep Comments on Certain WordPress Posts Moderated

On this site, I don’t moderate comments. Comments appear as they are submitted–with a few exceptions. (Comments that are flagged as spam by Akismet are forwarded to a CAPTCHA page, using the conditional CAPTCHA plugin. If CAPTCHA is entered successfully, these types of comments are moved to a moderation queue. Other than that, no moderation.)

However, I have some pages on this site that proved controversial, such as The Best WordPress Shopping Cart page. Some plugin authors complained that commenters were bad mouthing their plugins while hiding behind anonymous nicknames. So, I needed to moderate every comment that’s submitted to that page while still keeping the rest of the site un-moderated.

To do that, I made a little plugin.

The Plugin

This plugin adds a little box in the post edit screen, which allows you to choose whether you wanna keep the post moderated regardless of your site-wide comment moderation settings.

Comments moderation per post

If it’s checked, comments of subscribers (or higher) only will be published without moderation. Every other comment will be moved to the moderation queue.

This is published in the hopes that someone out there will find it useful. I’m too lazy to submit this to the plugins’ directory.

1 comment. You can post one, too!

  1. Hi. The zip is useless, can not be opened. Any ideas?
